16U Girls Club Volleyball in Wood Dale, IL
2026-2027 season. Tryout Saturday, November 7, 2026.
Team Illinois Volleyball is a small, family-first girls club volleyball program at Wood Dale Park District. Families drive in from Elgin, Streamwood, Carol Stream, Bartlett and Hanover Park, and some come all the way from Evanston and Chicago, because they want a club where their daughter is known by name, gets real coaching and still loves the game in March.
Who plays 16U in 2026-2027
Under USA Volleyball's 2026-2027 age definitions, 16U is for players born on or after July 1, 2010. Most girls at this age are in 10th grade.
Most 16U players are sophomores. Some have a club season behind them and some are brand new to club volleyball. Both fit here.
A 15U player can play up to 16U after a conversation with her parents, our Club Director and our Head Coach. 15U and 16U girls practice together on our 15/16 team. Not sure which age level your daughter falls in? Check our age level guide.
What the 16U season looks like
At 16U the goal is consistency. Cleaner passing, a serve she can count on, and learning to read the game instead of just reacting to it. She still cross-trains other positions, so she keeps growing as an all-around player.
- 16U players train on our 15/16 team. We fill 2 to 4 teams depending on tryout turnout.
- No more than 12 players per team, so she gets reps at every practice.
- Practices Tuesdays and Thursdays, 6:30 to 8:30pm, at Wood Dale Park District.
- Season runs from the beginning of December to mid-March.
- We play in the Chicago Volleyball League, 8 play dates.
